I need your help please!!!

We are going to (and by that I mean this nice man is going to), paint my Kitchen and Living room. I would do it but I really don't feel like messing with the 11 foot ceilings. Anyway.....I need help with colors. I have brown curtains that I love that will be going into the kitchen bay window. We will be adding blinds like the rest of the house has, the big wooden white ones. But I have NO idea on a color!!!!! I am thinking that for the living room I might use the same color I used for the hallway when I painted it over Christmas. Please give me your opinions!!! I need your help!!! These crazy leopard print chickens have got to go!!!

Aren't they pretty!!! They are just sitting up there now. They need to be steamed to get the wrinkles out and fixed so they fit the window but you get the idea.

Here is the other half of the kitchen. Ignore my messy kitchen please.

So what do you think??? I have posted more pictures below so you can get an idea of some of the other things we have done recently. Our bedroom is Gold, Kayla's bedroom is chocolate milk color, and our dining room is dark brown (that is my next thing to change:)
